Glow from Afar -

This was one of several experiments in abstracts using many values and shades of two complementary colors, yellow and purple. I painted it from a black and white photograph of a creature in my aquarium, matching the values in the photo with the values of the pastels I had chosen. It was a fun exercise in abstracting a subject and good practice in studying values.
