Snowstorm

This winter landscape was begun with a wet-in-wet watercolor background. I added to and enhanced the scene using miscellaneous papers, handmade papers, oriental fibers and strings applied with polymer medium along with acrylic paint, stamps and prints. This was an ongoing process of several layers that dried before the next layer was added or painted. I loved adding the thick textured snow with acrylic paint.  These mixed media pieces are always fun to do  . . .  I never quite know what I will end up with . . . it's always a surprise! Do you see the large snowflake? It was crocheted by my mother many years ago . . . what a treasure to add to this mixed media piece!
