Beaded Girl

This is a monochromatic oil painting, done on an oil-gessoed piece of masonite with Transparent Oxide Brown paint thinned with Gamsol. I often do these as under paintings to work out the values correctly before beginning with full color. Occasionally I will leave the monochromatic study as the finished painting. Normally they take 2-3 hours. This one was painted from a live model.
