Maine Coast

This beautiful coastal scene in Maine was done from a photograph that I took when visiting a friend there. As you can imagine, I couldn't wait to get home and paint it. I first did a small study to work out the composition, values and colors before I painted this one. Actually I added a bit more color to this larger piece . . . yes . . . the complementary color of all these blues — orange!
