Path Through the Snow

This pastel was painted over a watercolor painting that I wasn't happy with . . . a technique which I recently discovered was fun and able to preserve a painting that I probably would have tossed. In applying pastel over watercolor, I am able to alter or cover things that I don't like.  In this case, I simplified this scene into a simple strong composition with a nice dark foundation and contrast of temperatures.
