Copper Pot and Citrus

We love setting up these simple little still lives in the studio and painting them in one sitting (about 1-2 hours.)  It's a great practice for concentrating on big shapes, values and colors and not getting bogged down with details since there is not time for that.  When we go to paint a larger more complicated and detailed still life, we now tend to concentrate on the important things first and getting them correct.  Then we can have fun with details (a few.)
