Little Artist

I took a photograph of this precious little boy when I was on a mission trip in Colorado.  We were working with the kids in a school, and you can see that he was enjoying being creative (which I love) . . .  When I started this piece, I first covered the paper with water, and then while still wet, I dropped in some "inky" violet watercolor and splattered in some blue, all of which floated around on the wet paper and created this "wet-in-wet" background.  I then experimented with various papers, textures, paints and finally pastels to create a mixed media collage. I seldom have a plan in mind except possibly a subject and a color scheme, so the end result always surprises me.
