Marsh Waters

This marsh scene color study was done over a red-orange alcohol-wash under painting.  It was a demo for a pastel class showing how the warmer colors showing through the layers of cool colors make the painting "pop."  It also illustrates the importance of a good composition using a strong underlying dark pattern and a Z-shaped compositional design.
