Flamenco Dancer

Now, this was a fun piece to paint . . . (and I saved a botched watercolor painting!)  It began as a wet-in-wet watercolor painting of flowers. The paper buckled so badly that the paint ran into the center, creating this vertical band of mixed color . .  and basically a mess! (See painting below.)  It was rather embarrassing since it was a demo for a class, but I decided I was not going to let it get the best of me . . . so I pondered my mess, turning it in different directions until I could "see" something. All of a sudden, two figures appeared, and I had an idea!  Soon my Flamenco Dancer was born!
