Starfish and Shells

I began this painting by sketching a collection of seashells, a starfish and a sand dollar and then painted it loosely in watercolor on Arches cold pressed paper. Following the water color under painting and using my imagination, I selected a limited palette of colors to complete the painting in pastels. I love the texture that the pastel adds to the painting.
