This little painting was done on location near Asheville, NC. It was a quick 30 minute study in which I quickly blocked in the dark shapes, then light and medium ones. I wanted to keep it loose and capture the light and color of the place. The colors were spectacular in the way the light shined on the tree and reflected off the water.
