I saw many scenes like this while hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail. This little study was done in the studio from a photo that I took, and, when I look at this painting, I feel as if I am right there on the trail enjoying the sunlit meadow. Like many of my other paintings, I once again, gravitated toward that Z-shaped composition.
