Winding Garden

This mixed media was a fun piece to create. I began with large shapes of green, teal and aqua tissue papers and reddish brown and white acrylic paint. The design was in a "zig zag pattern" to lead the eye through the painting similar to a garden path. In addition to adding some cut-out daffodils that were drawn by my daughter, Allyson when she was about 11 years old, I loosely painted the garden flowers, larger in front and then receding and becoming less obvious as they disappeared into the distance. It is a sweet reminder of the flowers that were outside her bedroom window . . . the daffodils just happened to be her "birth flower" for the month of March.
