This little painting was done on location near Asheville, NC. It was a quick 30 minute study in which I quickly blocked in the dark shapes, then light and medium ones. I wanted to keep it loose and capture the light and color of the place. I love the contrast of the warm yellow-greens in the foreground against the cool purple mountain in the distance.
