I was taking a painting workshop in Hilton Head, SC, where you see these big Live Oak trees everywhere. They were beautiful with Spanish moss dripping from them in big clumps. This was my first trip to this little coastal town, and I was so taken with these unusual trees that I knew I had to take one home with me . . . out came my pastels!
